It's because it is a slow killer in my opinion...but a killer just the same. We are all silent sufferers...we need to stick together if nothing else.

I have always wondered that as well. I was in the healthcare field, and when my results started coming back during my work up as possible Lupus, I wasn't even familiar with it (I had heard of it, but didn't know much about it at all). I had to look it up and do a ton of research to educate myself on it. Over the years it still baffles me how little the general public still doesn't know about Lupus.
My home town is very small, and I was shocked to find out that for the past five years they have been doing Lupus Walks annually to raise awareness and money for Lupus. I wish there was more being done to bring awareness to all autoimmune disorders.
