Has Anyone Taken Imuran While Pregnant

A MyLupusTeam Member said:

Hi I took Imuran, prednisone and other medications while I was pregnant and I was very scared that my kids would have some kind of deformation, like missing fingers, toes etc, if you read what can happen when you do take Imuran while pregnant, you know the side effects that it has. I got lupus at the age of 21, and had my kids when I was 25 and 26. My rheumatologist said that my lupus was at its best when I was pregnant. I had a very good rheumatologist and gynaecologist that worked together and I’m proud to say that my children now 32 and 34 were born one 3 weeks early and the other 2 weeks early and are healthy and have no signs of Lupus. So you can take medication and there are lots of risks but believe in God and have good doctors looking after you and you’ll be right.

I was on the generic Azapress during my pregnancy. My son is now 11. He came at 36 weeks - he had colic and was fine thereafter.

Not while pregnant. I took it for 3 years though and it damaged my liver. I had to stop taking it.
