Skin Soreness

Skin Soreness

Has anyone experienced any skin soreness or sensisitvity... Kinda like you had your hair pulled up all day and your scalp hurts but on your body? I've had ithappen a few times on my arms, back ribs and thighs. Fibro runs in my family and I'm just worried I'll develop that as well

Those are classic areas for pain because those are areas that sensory nerves run. Lots of Lupies also have fibro. Talk to your doc there are meds that can help like neurotin, lyrica and lidocaine patches. Try to avoid drastic temps like a really hot bath or cold. Racer back bras can run right along a nerve on the lower neck/upper shoulder. A mild antidepressant like Cymbalta can also help.

Neurontin and a mild antidepressant work wonders for me.

I have fibro too and it's never caused my skin to be sensitive to the touch. However, since developing lupus, I often feel like my shoulder blades have been sunburned and there is nothing on the skin. Only the sensation.

Yes I get that every 2-3 months. I am reluctant to make a big deal about it to my rheumy to try to minimize meds. It usually resolves after a day or two and I'm good.
