Lupus and Pregnancy

Lupus and Pregnancy

Hi all! So I found out I am pregnant yesterday and although I should be excited, I am so scared. I've heard mixed story's of good and bad when it comes to lupus and pregnancy but I'm also worried about my fibromyalgia pain and having to get off some of the meds I can't even go a day without. Any advice for this scared future mom?! Thank y'all!

Hi @A MyLupusTeam Member, the doctors kept me on all my meds in fear that my body may have a flare and we would lose the baby. I am 24 weeks this week and seeing a high risk doctor monthly, so far everything has come great and they say the baby is very healthy. I pray that it continues to stay that way! I think now a days, it's possible to have babies with lupus because your highly monitored.

Hello,, first of all Congratulations - I am so happy for you. You are about to embark on a wonderful journey that will be filled with so much joy and happiness! I have four children and I was pregnant with three after being diagnosed wth Lupus. I really did not think it impacted me as as more pain, etc. but at that point my Lupus was not as out of control as it is now and I was not on any medications. Good Luck :)

Congrats 😊I have 5 children my last 2 of which I had lupus while pregnant with them . I saw a specialists monthly to monitor the baby which was awesome because I had an ultrasound and got to see them once a month and I had shots of lovenox daily on my Belly to reduce any chance of blood clotting and miscarrying.. Thank god with both pregnancies everything turned out perfect . My son is almost 6 and my baby girl is 3... We are all doing great ! Hang in there you will have a lot going on but its all worth it ❤️best of luck !
