Why won't my INR level out?
The PT INR Machines are not accurate for Antiphospholipid syndrome "APS" which is the Lupus antibodies , you have to go get you're blood checked in a lab. It sucks but that is how it is.
Yes I've been on it going on 7 years and its never stabilized!
@A MyLupusTeam Member Drake I was just taken off the home monitor because I have antiphospholipid syndrome. You cannot home test. Finger poke is inaccurate. You must have arm draw. On rat poison for 15 years. Thank the Lord I work close to my clinic
I just got approved for my home testing unit. I love it It saves me so much time and energy. Alere is the company that supplied the unit and manages this tests. I call the results into them and they call the Dr's office and if a change needs to be made the Dr's office call me. I have been doing it now for 3 weeks and I must say I'm grateful for my machine. Medicare does approve the home INR machines now. I don't know about the other ins. companies. It is a very simple form your Dr fills out and submits to the insurance company and once it is approved that form gets sent to Alere and them they call you to set up for a nurse to come out and teach you how to do everything. It takes about 1 1/2hrs.
I am all over the charts with my INR. I can be therapeutic one week ,make no changes and keep diet consistent and be high or low. Therapeutic for me is 3.5 -4. I keep Lovenox at home for home treatment if too low. I really need a home INR machine.
