I used to do a lot of crafts I loved puzzles now I have a hard time picking then up what are some of the things you like to do ?
I can totally relate to you. My one and only passion was working out I enjoyed lifting weights, body pump. Yoga and Pilates. Six years ago when I started getting sick I was not able to exercise and I dropped 20 lbs in about two months because without exercise I really have no appetite. Since I got sick I have not been able to consistantly work out without being in extreme pain from doing so. I now find I can only work out in moderation which is very hard for me. I had to quit the gym because I find it pushes me too hard to work out with others and I now work out at home alone. I have the bowflex max trainer 5(elliptical) which is low impact and has 15 min workouts that I do in the morning when I have my most energy. I can only do light weight training now ( only up to 10 lbs). I still try to do yoga at home on days when I can. But it is so depressing for me as well when I cannot exercise! I wish I knew what I could take to get my energy back!
That's a achievable goal. Also, it is an exercise we can usually tolerate pretty well.
I've really worked out before..My first passion was sewing, back stitching before I actually started using the machine to sew.I also practice on my guitar and I've cut my nails short to be able to play however this osteo-arthritis has me out of commission for a lot of things besides my hobbies and crafts. I love to can vegetables, haven't tried fruit yet,it's hard work but I love it,my mind be so consumed on what I'm doing until I don't know that I'm hurting until I start to hurt really bad.I want to learn how to swim and enjoy the water instead of being afraid of it..
I have been feeling the same way about the gym. I love it but i think i am hurting myelf by going. i push too hard. may be home workouts might be better for me. I wish i could get my strength and energy back too!
My main hobby was weight lifting and working out. I know, that sounds a bit strange .... fitness as a hobby. I am having a really hard time doing this too. the aching and hurting, joint pain, GI issues, fatigue, anemia etc. have caused me to lose a lot of strength and muscle. I am struggling a great deal right now to reconcile a way to keep my passion in my life some way.
