I haven't had Rituxan but have had Cytoxin. My Mom has had the Rituxan. Both are for the same thing, to suppress your immune system and hopefully 'reset' it. It worked for me for 10 yrs after lupus nephritis. I think maybe Rituxan has fewer side effects. Good luck. You're in my thoughts and prayers!

It's a medication that you get through an IV.

I had Rituxin to treat my ITP a few years back and put me into remission until December and now I’m a roller coaster with platelets again and just diagnosed with lupus. I thought the Infusion was not difficult. I had a reaction but they gave me Benadryl and slowed the drip. Takes about 4-5 hours so bring a book or something. I would do it again if I get the chance.
