I have nodules under my skin mostly on my arms and thighs but I do have some on my shoulders and chest some are small which can be lipomas but some are bigger and they hurt bad especially when touched. I noticed when I am in a flare they are bigger and hurt even more.
Yes I have them many really and are all different sizes. I don't no if it has anything to do with Lupus or not really . It is something I always had, and some are very tender I usually massage them it hurts at first but afterwards I feel better. You can also have tender points with fibromyalgia which I have also.. The nodules are painful for me but the doctor needs to know and they will keep an eye on them but usually are harmless. gentle hugs and blessings
I had a couple more biopsies and they turned out to be angiolipomas. I do have alot more since I asked this question. There is something called Dercums Disease that basically have the same symptoms as fibromyalgia. The only thing is doctors do not know how to treat it or they never heard of it. It's never an easy answer! I just wish someone could tell me why there is so much go going on with me. ☹☹
My dermatologist has recommended that I see a plastic surgeon and have a few of them removed. I'm thinking the more painful ones. I just started a new med so I am going to give that a try first.
Yes some are very painful! In all different areas.
