Methotrexate And Heartburn

Methotrexate And Heartburn

I'm taking methotrexate and am having tightness in my chest up to my throat. Went to the ER tonight and my heart is fine with no infection. Treating for heart burn. Has anyone on this drug had a similar experience? I felt better than I had in 10 years for the first 5 weeks after I started the medicine so I want to give it a chance to feel that good again. I'm on the oral dosing and have read that the injection might be better. Anyone have experiences to share?

I took oral Methotrexate for 4 months but it just made me so sick . Three days after my dose I would be in bed completely nauseated and unable to move. I was then moved to injections and did great but it didn't give me the results my Rheumy wanted andnI was removed . Good luck

It could just be medication causeing reflux my imuran does that so now I take nexium every morning with it an I also get esophagus spasm that have no cause or can't really be treated except for using a smooth muscle relaxers called levisen. They feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest but also I can't breath. I almost feel like I'm having a heart attack or my chest is closing.

If you have a good RA doctor O would rely on them. Here is a pretty example. I kept having pain coming from my lung area. X-Rays showed nothing. Finally a doctor decided to do a Cat Scan and immediately discovered I had pneumonia. Go with the doctor you have the most faith il. I hope this helps. Lupus is just a strange decease. Remember we are all in this together and I also love you my Lupus sister
