Can You Have Skin Biopsy Without A Rash For Diagnoses?

Can You Have Skin Biopsy Without A Rash For Diagnoses?

Has anyone been diagnosed by skin biopsy when not having a rash? Currently the rash is there, had the thought to go see a dermatologist as the rheumatologist and Gp don't seem concerned, as my bloodwork shows a negative ana. I keep getting a positive Smith's antibody and from the information I've came across it most likely is lupus..

By the time I get to see the dermatologist the rash may have gone. So if anyone can let me know if they have any similar experience. Appreciate it. Thanks...

I had a rash & dermatologist biopsied a spot behind my ear & it came back sle. He did a second biopsy by back hairline & it came back sle. Sent me to rheumy & the rest is history. My ana is always negative but have all the symptoms. It is getting a lot worse now. Has attacked my heart & stomach.

I’ve had those spooky rashes that come and go all down both of my thighs and arms and they were biopsied to come back as nothing but a reaction of my body fighting itself is what I was told, nothing serious but they did prescribe a steroid cream to rub in but they just left and never returned after a couple years of them coming back and forth. They started off as hives where they felt inflamed then other times you didn’t even know they were there until you removed your clothes!! I don’t have answers but pray they leave as well!
