I have been taking it for 4-5 years. But I only take 150mg at night and 25mg in the morning which are very low dosage. I have no side effects.

I tried Lyrica twice by my doctors advice for nuropothy and sleeping. Took it for 2 weeks first time and had reaction of my joints all swelling and couldn't even wear shoes but crocs. Stopped and took my water pills and it got better. Had next doctor appt and I told her that I stopped taking it and what it was doing again as far as swelling. Started again for 2 weeks and same thing happened so I stopped again and started water pills again. But while all my joints were so swollen and painful I tore my achilies tendon and one of my tendons in my fingers got pushed to bottom of finger so now have to have surgery on finger. I am now recovering from having surgery to repair achillies tear. That is 8 weeks no walking on foot and then a boot. It may work for you but one of the side effects says swelling of hands and feet and that was my reaction. Each of us has different reactions to meds we take, I wish you well :))

FYI, there has been a lot of bad press and law suits against gabapentin and lyrics. Look into it before buying. Gabapentin has become a street drug.

I took it for six months and was having suicidal thoughts so watch out for that.

I take gabapentin. It helps with the joint and nerve pain, especially sciatica, when Iโ€™m trying to sleep.
