My PCP wants to put me on cymbalta for burning feet, chronic back pain, , anxiety and depression. Does anyone have any experience with cymbalta?
I've been taking Cymbalta for many years. If someone told me I have to give up one med, I would fight to keep Cymbalta! It is wonderful for depression and also works well for pain. I recommend that you try it.
Lyrica also is very helpful for nerve pain. Everyone reacts differently to the same drug. Without the Lyrica and Cymbalta my nerve pain would be unbearable. That's one reason I love this group...a lot of different views and reactions. It makes ME feel a little less weird or crazy!🤗😀
Some people have great results from Cymbalta. For me, Cymbalta was one of the worst medications I've ever been put on. I was on it for 3 months and it made my pain worse, left me irritable, constipated, and sweaty. It also took me over 6 months to fully detox from it without having major withdrawal effects. I'm not saying these things to scare you, just be sure to listen to your body while trying it and know that there are alternatives if you feel that it just isn't for you.
I have been on Cymbalta for three years now. I had a hard time in the beginning to adjust it made me emotional sometimes but other than that really didn’t have any side effects. I take it for nerve pain. And it definitely does do wonders. Unfortunately I’m at the max dose so they added Lyrica with it! I hope it works for you in all aspects it is a helpful drug! Good luck!
I used to take cymbalta for more than a year... for migraine and chronic headache. This was very harsh on me. I have a lot of brain fog, tiredness, sleeping issues, vivid dreams etc for most of the time. Every time I turned my head, or moved my arms too fast, I got these nasty shocks running down my arms, down into my finger tips, radiating through my legs. They're not painful, but very intense and uncomfortable - nauseating. that was the sign to me that I have to take my daily dose. (60 mg a day).
It has helped with the pain a bit but the sides effect comes with the cymbalta are worth to reconsider.
I was advised yesterday and even got a prescription to start to take it. And I dont know what to do...
