But I’m pregnant now so I’m wondering if anyone’s has any issues during pregnancy their symptoms go away ?
I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant with my first pregnancy. I didn’t stop any medicine that I was currently on (Plaquenil, prednisone 15mg, and benlysta) the only thing that changed was I went from one Plaquenil pill to two and I’m also on aspirin now to prevent blood clots. I see a high risk OB and everything is going great. So there is hope! I pray you and your baby will maintain good health. Good luck and congratulations!
Absolutely Lupus is very interconnected with your hormones and pregnancy. I lost my first baby and almost died. I almost died with the second also, my son was born at 26 weeks thank God I was at a teaching hospital and he is fine today at 40 yrs old. You need to see a high risk pregnancy physician before you try to get pregnant again you could be risking you and the babies life.
I was pregnant with Lupus with my last child . I didn’t have any flair ups, however my Son came a month early he was premature and was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, don’t know if the Lupus played a role in it.
He’s a smart kI’d no learning disabilities.
I was high risk. When I had my kids were different know I had Lupus, but once I was diagnosed things made a whole lot of sense. I had three miscarriages and two children. My son was almost a stillborn and I was flat on my back my entire pregnancy with my daughter. The doctors knew something was not right so they watched my pregnancy with my daughter really close. I had a neonatologist in addition to my ob/gynecologist. I'll be praying for you.
I didn’t know I had lupus with either pregnancy but I think I did. I had interstitial cystitis for sure at that time and luckily it seemed to go into remission. With both pregnancies I had tachycardia and developed a murmur after the first. The worst thing was the fever I had after both deliveries. 105 degrees, joint pain with bad chills and then sweats. They had to change my hospital bed constantly. They assumed it was endometritis, which is an infection in endometrial lining but the CT didn’t show it. Since it happened again with the second I suspect it was my lupus. My first positive ANA was shortly after the second baby. I kept telling my dr I felt like I did after the kids were born. That my joints hurt so bad and I was having night sweats again so she did the ANA. Looking back I wonder if it was the lupus causing the issues and not an infection. The good news is both the babies were perfectly healthy!
