What Kind Of Accomodations Have You Asked For At Work?

For those of you that still work, what accomodations if any have you asked for? My job is going to require me to be a lot more physical and I am just trying to figure out the best accomodations. I would love to hear your responses. Thanks gang!

Use a spf unbbrella if you have to do outside things at school! I ordered on of amzon! Beach size it allowed me to go to all my girls tennis matches! I still used sunscreen & was in the shade when i could, but after i started usinging it i never flared or felt sick from the sun it really helped! I take it everywhere now just in case!

I have a desk that can be used sitting or standing. I am seated away from Windows and have a filter on the light fixture over my desk.

My former job would not accommodate. As I was already working 10-12 hour days, I wanted 4 days on and 3 off. So, I resigned which was the only option gor me.. Have your physician draft a request for whatever accommofation you need. If I had done this, they would have been more helpful to avoid an EEOC complaint. I am sure you are highly valued and loved. Learn from my mistake and make sure you let your doctor's request be your first communication. Love and best wishes to you, Calli

Calli, would it be at all possible or beneficial to become a tutor where you can make your own hours and charge significantly to help students who need extra help, either at your home or theirs,

Ask for a chair with arms, which will help with getting up and down. It will also allow you to lean into the arm of the chair when you are tired.
