Scalp Sensitivity

Scalp Sensitivity

Hello everyone. I am really new to all of this and recently diagnosed. It seems like every month is a new symptom. Just wondering if anyone experiences a sensitive scalp. I noticed it flares up when I'm exhausted. I had to change my brush to something soft it's that sensitive. My hair is thinning a lot.

Yep! Very sore scalp top of head red all of the time. Thinning hair. Was very dry with small flaky patches. Never had this before! Dr thinks I may need a temporal artery biopsy also.

Thank you Erica! Do you use any type of oil? I should also see a determotologist. Do you know is it from the Lupus?

I always thought I had dry scalp or a bad case of dandruff. It would also get itchy. Once I was diagnosed I asked if he could help with my scalp. Apparently it is the lupus rash but on my scalp. He prescribed Betamethasone. What a relief! It is the liquid for of Betaderm, which I use of my face.

Mine does get sensitive but I also have psoriasis on my scalp so that’s a lot of it. Have you noticed any sores or scaly spots in your scalp? I always thought it was just dry scalp but went to a dermatologist at the request of my rheumatologist and that’s when they diagnosed the psoriasis.
