Anyone Else In This Group On Blood Thinners

I'm on blood thinners because I am prone to throw blood clots because of my lupus and I have to have a very invasive surgery and they are asking me to get off my blood thinner otherwise they won't do it has anyone else experienced this problem if so please explain?

I was on blood thinners (lovanox) during my pregnancy and when i miscarried and needed surgery for it and they said it was fine as long as i was off it for 12 hours. (So like 1/2 way through the dose) thats obviously not super invasive but it was so that if there was unexpected bleeding they could stop it without much issue. I would talk to your specialist with the surgeons or have them talk.
