Swollen neck glands from plaquenil?

Swollen neck glands from plaquenil?

I’ve had swollen neck glands 4 months after starting plaquenil. I’ve now been on 8 months. I’ve gone to drs they all say wait and see tried to biopsy but the dr missed the node so now I have to do it again via radiologist. Not sick just nontender movable 1 cm lymph node in neck. Did all appropriate bloodwork and all normal. One ent dr thinks it’s plaquenil my rheumatoid dr says absolutely not and don’t stop taking it. And that it’s not swollen from my undifferentiated… read more

The left side of my face lower jaw, under chin and glands swelled up for over a month and they couldn’t figure it out but this was before I started plaquenil

I had lymph node drained in neck most physicians ignored my concerns of pain until my endocrinologist took initiative. Pain relieved and benign! Lymph node swelling is common with Lupus. Had these problems before I started Plaquenil.

Same here, I used to have swollen lymph nodes and glands almost yearly for like 14-15 years. It’s typical Lupus to have swollen lymphs and glands. All those undiagnosed lupus inflammations even gave me hypothyroidism like 11-12 years ago. And I wasn't on Plaquenil for all those 14+ years. I’ve only taken it for 1+ year now. And I hardly have issues with glands or lymph nodes ever since Plaquenil. Listen to ur Rheumys they are the experts. When I saw an ENT 6 years ago he missed the Lupus. Then he tried to diagnose me for tbc because of my cough and breathing issues which is normal with Lupus. And he even tried to claim I could have aids/hiv because of my low white blood cells which is another common Lupus thing. Talk about he was so incompetent!!!!! ENTs don’t know any shit other than crystal clear ENT issues!

I would go get a second opinion. Not everyone can take Plaquenil. Swollen lymph nodes feel bad. Try a lymphatic drainage massage on your neck and face if you have access. You will feel a difference right away. Keeping my lymphatic system clear is an ongoing process for me. If I don’t do it through a qualifed therapist it causes all kinds of problems. I do work on myself, too, but it’s not as effective. Keep fighting for answers!
