What Is It Like Taking Methotrexate?

A MyLupusTeam Member said:

I started taking methotrexate in 1997. Both injections and then the last 6 yrs was able to lower my dose to a pill form. It was a life changing drug for me with few side effects. It took my pain away. The most noticeable side effect was weight loss, but after time I was able to level off weight loss and maintain a healthy weight. After all those yrs I now have to change due changes in my lupus. Scared to leave it and anxious about Benlysta injections. We shall see.
I hope it is a miracle drug for you too. Best wishes.

I take methotrexate injections once a week. I was in pain till then. Once the doctor started using the injections, by the next day I was 70% better. Now on my 3rd month, I'm in remission. I'm actually afraid to stop with the treatment.

I used to get yeast infections all the time! My OB had me eat a cup of yogurt at least once a day. Never have I had one again. Now I make sure to have one once a week.
