In about 6 to 8 months my fiance and I are going to start trying for a baby. My lupus is mostly managed. I can go years without a full blown flare. I know there are some health risks for both me and the baby. I am constantly reminded of this by my mother and sometimes I'd like for something to not be about me being sick, especially something as happy as being able to have a baby. I guess I'm just looking for some advice and life experiences. Thank you.
They’ll have u do a ton of labs before u try to get pregnant
I was fine with both my babies but. I have never had any organ involvement. Prone to clots but was fine without baby aspirin. I just flared AFTER the baby was born
I just know mu rheumy told me we would basically have to plan it. And i would have to be off of the Arava/Leflumonide for at least a year before i think about getting pregnant. I want to start in about 3-4 years. I have the mirena IUD on for 5 years and my lupus seems to be okay these days. Definitely consult with your rheumy and a OB/GyN to see whats the best game plan for you.
Hi, I understand what you mean. It can be very challenging to think about but don’t give up hope. I just had my son February 28th and he’s absolutely beautiful and healthy. My biggest advise is keep up with your medications because now I’m really having a hard time as my lupus is active and it’s been quite challenging. It’s taking a toll on my body so keep up with your doctors orders. I wish I did maybe I wouldn’t be in this situation had I kept up with my medication during pregnancy. However, don’t give up hope many people told me the same and my baby is perfectly healthy.
