I’m still struggling to lose the weight I had gained while on Metoprolol ( I had a heart ablation due to frequent PVCs in October 2019). I don’t know if Lupus is playing a role in my weight loss difficulties but I am finding it impossible to lose any weight. I am drinking lots of water, limiting sugar and fast food, eating more fruits and veggies, yet I am still struggling. On top of this, I have found several thinning patches of hair. Yes, lupus makes losing weight harder. Specially after having many inflammation flare ups.
To me eating salad or soup at night made some difference. But what really helps is having exercise. I know it's hard to keep up, but I am walking pretty much every day, and I feel some difference. Hugs to you.

I already take a multivitamin & mineral. But, the doctor said to increase the zinc to 50mg/day. My hair started filling back in and growing long. It's now longer than when it fell out. I agree with Angz. No using harsh products of any kind on your hair or putting it in any tight hairstyles. I kept my hair in loose ponytails as it was growing back. And, don't stress. Stress and or a flare will cause your hair to fall out a few days later. Sometimes a week or a month later and you won't think it's related. I hope this helps.

Hello! I had thinning of hair and weight gain. I have dealt with lupus for more than 20 years now. For my hair and ball spots I had to stop using harsh chemicals on my hair. I am totally natural now. You should try a good organic and/ or herbal on your hair. No perms. Purchase and take a good multi vitamin, biotin and Pumpkin seed oil capsule form 1000mg. You must remain consistent with taking. No Gummies type meds for any of these supplements. You should see a difference with ur hair. The weight I am still working on, but I must say I now do not eat any meats at all, other than fish, seafoods. Good Luck! Angela
