Has anyone had the vaccine yet? Which one? Did you experience any side effects, illness, hospitalization? I want to get vaccinated but I'm pretty scared due to extremely unusual past experiences with food, supplements, hair coloring and the usual mystery illnesses. Thank God I haven't gotten the virus bc I've been quarantining (still) and wear a mask when I do have to go out and carry a spray bottle of alcohol for my hands. I do want any protection the vaccine offers (even if it is minimal) just… read more
I don't have lupus but am a caregiver. I have had autoimmune issues and have many food allergies including gluten, dairy, sugar, and fake sugar like Stevia. Anything that ends in ol is fake sugar. I don't want to scare you, but look at the ingredients in the vaccine, it has sorbates, ol sugars and peg. I got one Pfizer shot and I honestly felt like someone had removed my brain. It was like this for almost a week. I was weak, disoriented, dizzy, nauseous, and had a headache. My stomach was bloated for weeks after. These are all symptoms I had experienced from fake sugars. Be aware and be safe. Your choice, of course.
I had the Moderna in April and May. No side effects. Arm was not even sore.
Ask your rheumatologist if it's ok for you to take the vaccine. Also, they will ask your vaccine reactions when you go to take it so be sure to be honest. You will have to sit and wait for a specific time period before they will let you leave to make sure you are ok.
I took the Pfizer vaccine as soon as I was allowed to sign up for it. The first shot was fine, no problem. The second shot made me really sleepy. I was sleepy for several days and I slept alot. After about 4 doors, I was fine. No other negative symptoms.
I have Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Hypothyroidism, High blood pressure etc. I took the vaccine. I had no problem. I still wear my mask and social distance and stay out of crowds. I don't know your medical history, allergies or etc. However, taking the vaccine will be your decision. I took Tylenol a day before my shot. I took a Tylenol 2 hours before I got the shot and 4 hours after the shot I took another. I had no problems.
Still fighting, you're welcome. Stay safe. My husband is a patient with multiple issues now has blood cancer, low white cells, and he can't get the shot. His doctor said it won't do anything for him and she's concerned about side effects. He isolates. I mask everywhere, and don't socialize with anyone who isn't safe. Many people, even my dog walking friends go out to restaurants and indoor venues without masks. Difficult, but necessary. Stay safe
