Lupus And Fertility

Anyone here been able to get pregnant, keep pregnancy without much issues and have baby after lupus diagnosis? What medications/life style things were you doing to manage Lupus when you got pregnant? Plaquenil? Autoimmune diet?

Yes. I managed to have 3 healthy children after losing my first borne son.....it took something as simple as one baby aspirin a day. I refused all other medications for fear of side effects for my babies as this was 25 years ago...and I learned the baby aspirin is an older method of treating pregnant women with lupus yet still used today by doctors who are specialists in this field. I had a wonderful high risk OB . I had to stop the baby aspirin 1 month prior to my due date as it affects the amneotic fluid and bedrest during my last trimester with all. My sons pregnancies were much harder on my body than my daughter but now, I have 3 beautiful grown children and grandbabies. This is my BEAUTIFUL legacy and worth every moment of pain, fear and all that goes with it!!

I have 5 boys. My last 3 pregnancies were harder on my body . Each one more difficult than the last as my lupus worsened. My last pregnancy, is the one I had right after my diagnosis. I was put on blood thinners (shots) and closely monitor every week to check on baby’s heart. There was a high risk for neonatal lupus. My son was strong, all of them were. Born healthy! I was the one who insured the pain lol I was induced with 4 out of 5 pregnancies. Just for different reasons.

I have 3 children. My first 2,boys, I had in my mid 20s.shortly after that my lupus went crazy I had several miscarriages, stopped having any regular periods and was told I would never be able to get pregnant again. Well, I was 38 and guess what, I was pregnant. First doc said terminate the pregnancy and forget it happened. 2nd doc brought the baby to 34 weeks and had to do a section. It was 3rough 7 months but I would never regret it. My daughter is 24 and the love of my life
