Anyone Else Have Hip Joint Pain?

Anyone Else Have Hip Joint Pain?

Apparently, Osteoarthritis has done a number on me. I was just told I have to have a HIP REPLACEMENT!! I know my jaw dropped to the friggin’ floor when I heard that!! I told him no thanks, I’m too young for that. He just laughed and said age has nothing to do with it. I’m probably not going to win this one.

Unless you had repeated trauma to your hip, your problem is probably due to rheumatoid arthritis (autoimmune) not osteoarthritis (mechanical injury). While some physicians treat the two arthritities exactly the same (hip replacement), non- surgical treatments differ significantly from each other. Rheumatoid arthritis can occur at any age. Osteoarthritis usually appears about 20 years after an injury.

Sorry you are unable to continue riding. I had to give up riding my bike. Sad how our brains tell us it’s ok, and our bodies say no way.😢

So true! Why live with pain when you don't have too! I find myself rubbing the base of my spine where my hips meet the backbone. Riding horses my whole life has taken its toll I am afraid. Too many bad falls on my tailbone in the past. No longer riding due to Lupus and being osteoporotic. Sigh...

Oh I'd get it done now. Dont wait until your older, its harder to heal then and you might injure it more. Take care of yourself
