What Is The Best Type Of Doctor To Choose When Picking A PCP When You Have Lupus? (Besides Your Rheumatologist)
I have a great rheumatologist, but I am looking for a primary care doctor to care for my other yearly check ups, etc. Is there a specific type of doctor like internest or DO that seems to be better for lupus patients?

Choose one that understands the disease. Choose one that will be a team player because you are building a team right now, the Rheumatologist is part of the team as well as your PCP and if you have skin issues, your dermatologist. Remember, they all work for you so they must all be on one accord when it comes to your health. If the PCP dismisses you in any way then you have the right to excuse them and get another one.
