Lupus Diagnosis?
A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello. I'm 51 years old and have been pretty healthy my whole life until 3 years ago. I'm now my 4th Rheumatologist and was first treated for RA and recently changed diagnosis to SLE. I have the aches everywhere. My shoulders burn, my upper arms ache like I just had a flu shot
I went through a time where my hands hurt so bad and had no strength in them. The aches have moved into my upper legs and it hurts to stand up and walk. I struggle with fatigue daily and so depressed. I have never had… read more

We all understand your new you, belive me it has been difficult to leave my old me. I have been dignosed with SLE since my 30's, I am 55 yrs. old. I hate all new pain and it gets worse with age. We are not going to died any time soon!. In my opinion, keep moving around the house do stretches everyday, even when I don't want to do anything, it helps. Sometimes are better than others. Pray for strenght, meditation helps me too, even when I go to sleep most of the time, I like reading. A Physical therapist can help, I was going for a while, I can't afford it anymore, so I just do it at home. Also, I Used warm and cold pads in my body to relieve pain. Hopefully, it can help you.

Good morning. I take165 mg of Pregabalin. They increased it to 320mg to see if i could tell a difference in the amount of pain, but i didn't notice a difference and went back to the 165mg. The trial and error is exhausting. I worry so much about taking all the meds that don't seem to help. All the meds that i took in the beginning for RA...just not good for the body. Thanks for inquiring...

It sounds like you meet all the diagnostic criteria for lupus. Your symptoms sound very similar to mine. I’m curious what dose of pregabulin you’re on? I was on 75 mg for fibromyalgia pain but needed an increase to 300mg just to take the edge off. I was diagnosed with SLE in June 2020 and fibromyalgia in November of that year. Lots of trial and error. Remember your diagnoses don’t define you.
