I was on 40 mg for about 2 months, and before that methotrexate and 15 mg of Prednisone, and now I am on 30 mg of prednisone. I have increased hydroxychloroquine and have taken my second Benlysta infusion. The change for me wasn't significant due to the other drugs. I needed to be on at least 40 mg, without the other drugs so that I could function.

I am still on 5 mg of prednisone which I take at bedtime. I’ve been on prednisone since last October, can’t seem to get below that dosage even with the other meds. When I try reducing dosage to 2 1/2 mg it is so painful to move so I am in a catch 22 situation.

I now refuse to take prednisone because a rheumy doc. put me on prednisone for Lupus and it was 100mg. per day and I took it for over 1.5 years...then it took me another 14 months to taper off so I refuse to use it anymore. I also lost all my teeth due to Prednisone and now suffer osteo porosis and as a result have had a broken hip, broken arms and other appendages such as fingers and toes. It is an incideous disease and I wouldnt rec commend it to my worst enemy (I might reccommend to my ex though lol)

I should add, I had only been on 20 mg for about 6 months.
