I need help for insomnia / staying asleep. I have to take Ambien and it works within 10 minutes but I still wake up at 2am every day wide awake. Bed is at 9 with no screens.
It's best to avoid sleeping medicine, if at all possible! Are you able to get in a daily walk or some exercise? That along with relaxation techniques, therapy, etc. can help a lot!!! If our body isn't tired, we don't sleep well.
Take care, all!
I have the same issue. Honestly, cognitive/talk therapy helped a great deal. Almost a year after completing therapy I still have sleepless nights. Some nights it’s the pain and others it’s the worry of having Lupus. I usually listen to meditation or sleepy time videos to help get me to sleep and that seems to work (you know… just something to refrain from taking the meds) I also have a prescription for Lorazepam (which can be prescribed via a cognitive evaluation) it’s for anxiety so it definitely helps with the sleep if I need it. Sleeplessness is a common struggle for us… usually attached to the anxiety/depression symptoms that come with the condition. Your Dr. Should be able to refer you to a therapist to start helping with how you feel mentally and emotionally due to the Lupus. Try it! I can really help of you find the right therapist for you. Be well!
Same here. I take 3 Benadryl and 3 melitonion and still get up
I have tried many things over the years - the first thing that worked was the Gabapentin - Neurontin my neurologist prescribed.
