Does anyone have any recommendations for controlling discoid rashes on the back? I have used Clobetasol on my scalp in the past and that was effective, but I'm really breaking out in red spots on my back recently. Also, does anyone else have mouth lesions that won't go away?
I get an oral paste from my dentist that really clears up the mouth lesions.
Also, regular clothing provides very little SPF protection--just a few degrees! So we need to protect our whole body!
Hi Anne and Carolyn,
I'm sure you know avoiding UV really helps control flares, so high SPF sunscreen (at least over 50) and staying out of the sun, UV hat, clothing, etc. help. The mouth lesions tend to go with flares, so keeping the disease controlled helps to keep them away.
Studies show avoiding dairy helps, too!
Hi Anne. Yes, I get mouth lesions and when they flare up, I gargle for a good 30 seconds with Hydrogen Peroxide. Works wonders for me.
