Has anyone used celebex for severe joint pain and lupus? I have never tried it. Was wondering if anyone had any experiences with this medicine?

As I know that Celebrex is a good medicine but the side effects might be bad. I take plaquenil it does not have a lot of side effects, only to check your eyes 2x a year. Also prednisone helps a lot with the pain, again there are a lot of side effect.

I think I am going to go back to plaquenil, I am getting worst now, now on top of all our pains I am getting bad headaches in the afternoon and at night. Also I had a biopsy done last week from a rash on my scalp. The doctor also order an incredible amount of blood work, all my years of being sick, I never had a nurse taken 12 viles of blood and urine. The doctor is being very careful and cover all possibilities. Well I asked the nurses why I was getting so much blood they told me that he looking for cancer. Probably you guys recognized this test the name is Pruitus blood work?. Please let me know if someone had gone through this test. Thanks you all. God bless you.

Celbrex thru me into congestive heart failure. One of the side effects is edema. In a short 6 week period I gained 25 pounds and with hypertension I developed congestive heart failure. Lucky for me after 3 days in the hospital on IV meds to get rid of the fluid I was ok. But now I have to have a echo and ekg every year.

I have used plaquinil and steroids but hate taking both. I actually requested Celebrex from my rheum last week but since I have a platelet disorder, she would not give it to me. My daughter has used it for her psoriatic and JRA pain and it worked great. Does not tend to affect your platelets so I will be asking my Hematologist to consult with the rheum... Want to try it
