Good Morning everyone... I am in serious serious need of help, does anyone knows of foundations that would help people with disabilities like lupus, fibromyalgia, cause I am about to lose my power in my apartment and about to lose my apartment to and be homeless with my 2 kids, please I need help I have no one to turn to and I am all alone with no family in Florida. Thank you everyone.
Kimie I have apply for SSI and they deny me 3 time, finally got a lawyer and now we are waiting for a 3-5 month response because that's how long SSI takes to response if they would accept my appeal
@A MyLupusTeam Member I know your pain! I fiiled December of 2018 and just had my appeals hearing last month and the financial toll it has taken on us is insane! I called yesterday to see when I could expect a decision because my hearing was Feb 3rd and they are so backlogged they said it should be “no later than” 270 days from my hearing date. Like you, I am worried how I am going to keep our power on because Monday is the last date and our bill is $645.

if you have children, I don't believe they can shut off your utilities, especially if you live in a cold climate. Another place to try is the Red Cross. They can help out in situations like this. God bless you.
Check with local churches. Your local utility company should have info for an agency in your area that provides heating assistance on their website.
