Anyone get red lower eyelids? Mine are constantly red....looks really odd....not sure if its from the Lupus or not. I get dry spells during flares but the redness is almost constant:-(

I didn't think I had blepheritis at all. I was actually shocked when the ophthalmologist told me I did. I went in for a plaquenil screening and walked away with two prescriptions. Warm wishes to everyone. New to the website and enjoying it so far.

I had the same symptoms. I was just diagnosed with blepharitis (Infection of eyelids) and episcleritis (red eyes). I was prescribed Restsis for the dry eyes and doxycycline for the blepheritis. Both medication are working so far for me. Hope this helps.

red rimmed lower lids is an indicator of an autoimmune disease as well. Unfortunately, it doesn't go away and is hard to cover.

Wow! I was just in the bathroom looking at my terrible red bunny eyes! My upper and lower lids are red and inflamed and tender all the time. I look like I'm tired or have been crying everyday. I'm using Restasis for dry eye and it helps with the sclera (the white part of my eye) but my lids are ridiculous. I don't recognize myself sometimes. My left upper lid has all this new vascularization on it- I need to go makeup free to my next rheumatology appointment and see what the doctor has to say. I don't think I have Blepharitis because I don't have any flaking or scaling in my lashes or on the lid. I'll have to see the ophthalmologist to see what he thinks about possible episcleritis but that usually is more uncomfortable than what I have... Thanks for the input!
