Disability And Trying And Qualify For A Home...

A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question 💭
Phoenix, AZ

I have a question and looking for advise.....

I'm am looking to purchase a home. I am on disability . So, to be able to qualify for more, i know we can earn an extra ...up to a 1,000/mo. I do own a business, but have never taken a pay check. What is the best way to go about doing this??

Thanks😊

You might try talking to a disability attorney to see if they would know what you could do.

I was able to get a home based on my limited disability income and a part time retail job. I was lucky to have some cash (from back disability) and a real estate agent that really wanted to help me. I had no credit and a few issues that I cleared up easily with a few letters. I got statements from my utilities, and apartments showing my good standing. There's an advantage for disability income: its definite, reliable and does not end. So lenders see it as safer than a riskier higher income. I suggest finding a real estate broker who knows the mortgage scene and will find someone to work with you. Its doable. A lot of folks just do not want to take the time to work with you. I got my dream house ( twice what the first lender told me I could get.) I kept the pt job just long enough to get my house, then quit to work at home again. Lenders do not care for home business. Don't give up on your home. Good luck.

I'm already approved and been getting disability. I guess I'm just trying to find a way to get qualified for more on a loan. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do that? ...or maybe share your ideas on how any of you guys make your extra money.

@A MyLupusTeam Member I hired a SSD attorney to help me file for mine. He only does cases of social security disability. He got mine approved in 5 months. Hope this helps.
