I had the same problem, my doctor recommended that I see a specialist so I did. I had a liver biopsy done because my liver number were in the 500. My biopsy showed that I have autoimmune hepatitis is not contagious is just my lupus is attacking my liver. I was prescribed steroids and imuran. Its working but slowly. I hope this helps :) @A MyLupusTeam Member

I didnt want to be in a treatment if they didn't know the cause of it that's when My doctor recommended the biopsy because I was tired of other doctors guessing what it was, I got the results in 2 days and started my treatment right away, my numbers dropped significantly since I started my treatment almost back to normal. oh I forgot before I had the biopsy I had lot of blood work done related only to my liver

I also have a liver problem cause by the lupus and they just took me off the steroids because it has caused diabetes. Iam nit sure what is next. I think you should have a talk with your doctor and tell him you need to know what is happen with your liver?

High liver enzymes are caused by liver disease, some medications, inflamation.

Ladies if u want to have healtier liver especially with all the medications we all r taking u must clean the liver. U can drink in the morning on empty stomach half lemon juice with spoon of olive oil and mix with a little water. Then u can drink herbal tea and drink water but don't eat for 30 minutes. Also take a spoon of turmeric with a little black pepper it's super great for any inflammation. I feel much better since I start doing it and it's healthy and won't hurt u. So try it.
