Does the cold bring on a flare or hot weather?

For me I love winter. I find I dont have any flare ups, and my bones dont ache as much. Summer for me can be a bit much, especially if its a very humid day, that kills me. My sister on the other hand who also hás Lupus, loves the summer. In winter she gets bad cramps in her bones, were she's had to have cortizone injections. So it really depends what kind of Lupus you have and what organs it affects. As you can see, my sister and I we both have it but we are being treated very differently. We also have the same specialist.

Cold weather bothers me way more than the heat does. But that doesn't mean it won't change one day. I'm sure it depends on how sensitive your system is, but i recommend just listening to your body and if something doesn't feel right, then stay away from it for a while. I don't have an intolerance to heat or sunlight at this point - and I'm hoping it stays that way for a while - but if one of those things is a trigger for you, then its a probably a good idea to make some adjustments in your schedule or social time. I know Lupus affects everyone differently - I think you just have to learn what your personal limitations are at the time and learn to work around them. <3

Yeah, it's the UV rays that affects the nerves under our skin and can cause us to flare. And the cold and dampness make e hurt. I don't even go into my pool unless the pool water is at least 85 lol! A jacuzzi feels awesome though.

@A MyLupusTeam Member, something that does help me is a heated mattress pad and electric blanket year round.

It's both . Extreme temperatures are a nightmare . Heat rash and hives during the summer months . Chilblains on hands and feet in the winter . Let's just say I enjoy Spring and Autumn
