You must have been positive for blood work, they won't dx you without a positive. I have discoid lupus my biopsy came back positive then he called and wanted me to go for bloodwork, I did and I am not systemic only skin is affected. Watch your sun and flourescent light exposure, start wearing sunblock and cover your skin. Their are many different skin ailments, Discoid lesions scar when they heal if you get them in your scalp and they scar the hair will not grow back. Subacute lesions look like psoriasis but they don't scar, the malar butterfly rash can turn red purple brown drying skin but it does not scar, and they come and go when u are flaring or have had to much light on your skin. Panniculitis is like a round bump under your skin they can heal with denting in your skin this is rare. Get a hat check out sun protective clothing, i visit the websites called cooliobar, sunday afternoon, solumbra and their are others. The rhuemy will do all sorts of testing so good luck and try not to stress it is a known trigger. Stress and sun exposure are your enemies, take precautiin. Good luck I hope it's not lupus, their is no cure and it takes work to manage it, but you can do it.

Mine was negative but he (dermatologist/internist) still thinks it's lupus. I have an appt with a rheumatologist next week for blood work and he wants to do another skin biopsy on my arm. That's where the worst of the rash is. They do say that no one test is enough to diagnose or reject lupus. Do you have other symptoms or positive bloodwork that indicates lupus?
