Adarall for memory. I read an article that explains how it has helped lupus fog. Anyone using it and what are your results?

Adderal has changed my life. I’ve been able to go back to college and get a full time job after graduating. I was on disability since 2006. Oh and I’ve tried ginseng ginkgo, magnesium and many other ‘natural’ things. Sometimes they help , but sometimes it takes more. I am so thankful to have a Life again! For 15 years I thought I would be stuck laying down inside watching the world go by until I died.

rest is the only thing that helps my fog. If I over due it that is when I get foggy so I just back off and rest. I take enough meds and I don't want to add anymore.

Sometimes lupus fog has a biological component like neuropsychiatric lupus or inflammation in the brain. More often than not the issue is psychosocial. When you feel like you have the flu 24/7 for weeks and months on end, how can you expect to remember to even use toilet paper??? If you are grieving for your lost identity, what and who you used to do and be, how can you expect to think clearly??? If you had a friend whose partner died, would you expect them to have trouble concentrating? Yes, you would. You have lost your health, hopes and dreams, maybe your job, your relationships have changed. You lost a lot of stuff. You lost who you are. Cut yourself some slack. Let yourself grieve.

In the short term. here are some solutions. Use your phone to take a picture of where you parked your car. Keep a little assignment pad in your purse to write down what you need to remember during the day. Use cell phone alerts to remind you about stuff. Always put you stuff in the same place so you can find it. Use sticky notes and post them where you will see them. I post them on the walls, bathroom mirrors, fridge, etc.

Then work on the emotional issues. Journal every day. Just barf out what you are thinking for 20 minutes each day. The difficult emotions will diffuse and the fog will lift. Been there, done that, got the T shirt.

I guess I'm gonna get the reputation of being Ms. Natural Nancy or something...but lupus fog is one thing but I also have to give myself a break as well by realizing that this world first and foremost in more complicated than I would have ever imagined in my life time and I'm not particularly enjoying the signs of the times much either. (smile) I'm older and I've always been into environmental issues such as "clean air, water polution and now we have such a strong and terrible need for organic foods because of things like pesticides, chemtrails and overall "chemical warfare and Population decrease ??? Hey it's a complicated and confusing world that we now live in and it's like dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. So I chose to go with what I hope is actually natural for every ailment I encounter. For the mind it's "Magnesium, Ginseng, Ginkgo and what ever more I study and find might be favorable" for me.

Dedication to Research, education, our Diseases, our bodies, our minds, our spirits, food & natural treatments and cures, etc. That's the Key for Me.

I was put on Adderall before being diagnosed. It did help, in small amounts and if I avoided extended release. On good days it feels like a mild stimulant, but on low days it is too subtle to notice. The fog is improved most notably though.
