Prozac

A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Hey all,
My doctor just prescribed 20mg Prozac to replace my Zoloft of 50mg that I've been taking for the last 4 years! Have any of you had any experiences with it? Good? Bad? And in between?

I take Prozac and it literally saved my life. I was having suicidal thoughts before and it has helped me greatly.

Hi @A MyLupusTeam Member it has been awhile since they were trying all that for my supposed depression. I have taken both but do not remember it was way back. Trying to fix the "depression" was a long ordeal (even landed me in hosp) and turns out for me-- my thyroid was to blame. Got that under control with Armour and no more depression. But I am the exception probably. :)

That's pretty funny since you are not the first to think that when you're depressed it means you're just sad so most people because of that try to get back to that point in which they were happy & not feeling the way they feel or felt. Depression is so much more than sadness it is hard to explain to anyone because it is a rush of emotions or feelings as well as thoughts that either hit you all at once or little by little you can go days, months, weeks and years without feeling any symptoms of your depression and then BAM! Those feelings or feeling and thoughts can just creep up on you within a blink of an eye & you won't know what's wrong nor why you suddenly feel the way you do let alone do the things you do, depression makes you feel frustrated, makes you feel like you are the worst person in the world you feel all kinds of guilt because in your head you start comparing your struggles to others to convince yourself as to why you need to stop whining or complaining is what depression makes it feel like you are doing you lose motivation the things you once enjoyed doing you no longer find interesting no matter how hard you try to get back into doing those things it just doesn't interest you, you get anxious you start to lack an appetite because not only does depression have a hold on your emotions it changes the way you view or what you think of yourself depression is like an abusive spouse or mate in a relationship it convinces you that you aren't worthy or good enough or loved that no one cares about you or your feelings that your thoughts, feelings and depression are the only thing that truly love you it convinces you that you are fine that you don't need help or need to get better because without depression the world can be scary and people are cruel this is when social anxiety sets in & we stop communicating with everyone which makes them feel as if they did something wrong which makes you feel even worse it wants you to hurt yourself some people give in some try & sometimes succeed at taking their lives back depression sucks & I wouldn't wish anyone to ever get diagnosed with it @A MyLupusTeam Member
