Hello! I was in the hospital back in Feb with Pluericy and Cardiac Arrest, that is when the first mention of Lupus or any other auto immune disease came up. They did the ANA test and it didn't come back positive for Lupus, but positive for Scleroderma. I was referred to a rheumatologist who ran more specific tests. He didn't even schedule a follow up appointment as he didn't think I had anything... However, I tested positive on my Anti-dsDNA igG test and a strong positive on my cb-cap-ec4d (a… read more

That seems to be the case in a lot of people! I've been looking for answers for about 10 years. I have been misdiagnosed with restless leg syndrome, you are just a "fainter", to anxiety, to vasovagal syncope (which I do have, but it isn't the large picture). It took a very caring doctor to look at me as a whole person and do the tests. I often wonder how many people are out there who never get the answers they are looking for!

I was getting tested for lupus for 10 years by every doctor/specialist I went to and every time the results came back negative. A new Dr. I saw, tested me for a rare lupus and it came back big time postive. When I went to the rhuemotoloist he recommended, he said I didn't have it, but said I had sejorns syndrome. I never went back to him. Three years later I finally was sent to the rumetologist out of town who looked at the same test report saying I big time had lupus and syjerns syndrome. She scripted 4 new meds, and I immediately felt better. I thank God I finally saw someone who took my disease seriously

It is normal. Don't let doctor's tell you that if you don't test positive that you don't have lupus. It's not conclusive because it does change.
