I too had my spleen out due to the fact I had low platelets & the oncologist at that time said once we remove it my platelet count should come back ...after the surgery in 5 days my platelet count was normal !! It so was the right decision I have lived with out a spleen for 30 years !!!

My spleen has become inflamed often, during a flare it's worse. The spleen helps the body heal n fight off infection and viruses, for us the spleen is always working overtime so it gets inflamed like other parts of the body. Its painful mostly for me when I lay down,I've spoken to my rheumy and he just UP's the predinsone and in a few days the pain is gone. I can only speak for my self,it's best you speak to your rhuemy.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

When I was 17 I had mono and my spleen enlarged to the size of a football. I had to go to Duke and fortunately they were able to treat me before it rupurted. They had never seen a case like mine before. When I was diagnosed with Lupus at 25, Dr said the complications from mono were probably due to Lupus. I wish you well, Lupus has a mind of its own.
