My insurance company balked all of the sudden at my years-long adderral rx, so my doc prescribed vyvanse. I'm curious to know if anyone has any experience with it, your dosage and any side effects?
Also, did it replace an adderral Rx? If so, what dosage?
My adderral dosage was 75mg over 3x a day and my vyvanse dosage is 70mg. The vyvanse seems to come on strong first thing, but fade pretty quickly in the afternoon.
I do not sorry, but itβs worth looking into,
No I never have.
I was on the 60mg for a couple of days and it wasn't doing much for me so doc changed it to 70mg. It seems to work well first thing but wears off in about 5 hours. With my CFS and narcolepsy, I really need all day support and this dose isn't working.
@A MyLupusTeam Member do you know of anyone taking it 2x a day?
Itβs the same class of drug, I have a few clients that are on it. Works the same way as adderrall. Think of it like Percocet or Vicodin some people react better to one drug over the other but they in the sense used for the same reason, hope this helps
I wonder if it is new?
This is what a web search came up with. I guess it isn't that new since this is dated a year ago.
"Adderall has been around longer than Vyvanse. ... Still, Vyvanse and Adderall are both amphetamines (a type of stimulant medication), so they work in much the same way. They stimulate the nervous system and increase the amount of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain.Oct 7, 2016"
Have You Been Prescribed A Stimulant? (Vyvanse, Adderall)
