Like weakness headache fever and some confusion and then rash starts within few hours of me coming inside. Just got diagnosed with tumid lupus and photo light eruptions by biopsy and waiting on appointment with rhemy to discuss systemic. I was wondering if this is normal with systemic lupus light sensitivity. The symptoms don't fit with tumid lupus by itslef so my dermatologist is sending me to a rhemy
Tizo sunblock is great on the face. I’ve tried SO many because I developed melasma on my face...probably due to inflammation from the sun and chemical sunblocks, or the hormone imbalances that come with autoimmune diseases. If you have photosensitivity, where sunblock to prevent this. There is no cure, yet.
I am allergic to the sun now. Sunburn and hives was the worst thing ever. I try and keep cool as much as I can, stay in the shade, drink plenty of water, and my new friend is a cool towel - I live with it around my neck in summer.
I forgot to tell you that even use sunscreen when going to places like stores which all have fluorescent lighting.
You should find the highest level of sun screen which I believe is 110 and put it all over you before you ever get in any sunlight. Even the sunlight in your car.
Photosensitivity is very common with systemic. I would break out into a rash on my face and arms the first two years after the onset of sle, and this past year the fevers and facial rash became very common with exposure during the times of year when the sun was the strongest (late spring-late fall.) I haven't found anything to help with it either.
