I've been on Gabapentin for a long time. It definitely works for me to calm my pain. However, your doctor and you have to make sure what the right dose is for you; too little, and it won't work; too much, as happened to me in the beginning, and you can feel side effects like dizzines and changes in mood. Take care.

I took it and it helped with my nerve pain but had to stop because of dizziness :(

I am on gabapentin as well for peripheral nerve pain and I have tried without success to taper my dose and to switch to more natural remedies with no luck. If you find something that helps I would love to know! I think most of us would rather be on homeopathic remedies but with this disease I think sometimes pharmaceuticals are the right answer.
