Small Pimples. Rash? Hives? Lupus?

Small Pimples. Rash? Hives? Lupus?

I have a mystery to solve. One of my most predictable issues is one I can’t identify. I’m hoping someone here can help

I have been getting little pimple-like things on my face and neck. These are not normal pimples tho. I think it might be more like an allergic reaction?

They pop up VERY quickly. They don’t hurt and are very very small like the head of a pin maybe. They are filled with a tiny amount of white goo and pop with the slightest touch. They often refill again tho.

I wouldn’t call… read more

Itching and burning is typical of a lupus rash/eruption. I am extremely sensitive to UV light including fluorescent lighting. My worst time is from April through October because the dun is more direct and in Southern Arizona it is closer to the earth. I have been advised by my Rheumatologist and Dermatologist to always wear sunscreen on every exposed area of skin. My Rheumy says just walking from the house to the car is enough to trigger a flare, not just a skin rash but, total body symptoms including fatigue and joint pain. For me even high heat can trigger.

I had these small pimple like rash that when I scratched them they’d open up and look like open sores. They would itch and burn so bad. Most of them was located on my upper arms, chest, and upper back. I went to numerous dermatologist and they said they never seen anything like it. My rheumatologist put me on Celcept and referred me to an advanced dermatologist.. He did a biopsy and said it was discoid lupus rash. He put me on Clobetasol cream and they cleared up quickly. He said mine didn’t have the “common” symptoms. There are so many types of lupus rashes it’s unbelievable.

I also get hives all the time. I’m on Allegra 360mg twice a day, (for Histamine 1) Pepcid 40mg daily, (second usage... It takes away histamine 2) Zyrtec once a day, ( Histamine 1) and I’m starting Zolair injections monthly.

I have been getting ALOT of new skin issues lately. A pimple like rash on my back that itches SO bad, I also have had what starts out like an infected hair follicle or bite on my leg..by the next morning I will have many that look like they open up. Have attached a pic. The other night I broke out in these welt like hives on my back. I have always had a light red rash on my chest..one breast but not the butterfly rash. Anyone else have anything going on like this?

Because of my complection when I do have what I mentioned before I’m usually told it’s something else but this isn’t acne or some other skin condition it burns and itches, I’ve been to several dermatologists all who for some reason won’t do a biopsy they want something to biopsy..just get a piece of skin from somewhere and biopsy it! .even though the prednisone finally cleared the hives up I would still get breakouts of them esp with stress or sum so one dermatologist did tell me to take Allegra daily I thought he was nuts bc that’s for allergies but it seemed to keep them away. When I run out of it between pay periods sometimes after a day I start itching and dashing at my face and other parts of the body after 3days the hives come back and some small blisters sometimes a low grade fever, I feel burning under my skin
