A relatively new symptom I've been experiencing is flashes of extreme hotness that results in profuse sweating. It is only relieved by drinking water and cold compresses. It lasts only a short period but it's happening several times a day especially if I get a little warm. At night I'm sleeping with a fan directed right on me otherwise I am too hot. I've never been a sweaty person before and have usually always felt cold
Anyone experience this? Not sure if it's a lupus thing or something… read more

I can identify with all the profuse sweating!!! OMG!! Its worse than most any other symptom I have. I HATE IT!! I would almost take more pain than all this sweat. It happens especially when I move... LOL.... and mostly makes the back of my head wet, my face sweats like crazy, under my boobs, neck... back... everywhere. I live in humid hot Florida and cannot even get the mail without breaking out in a sweat. Its been 10 years now and it still happens everyday. I thought I was alone and reading all your posts helps me to know I'm not alone!! I invited ALL of you to be on my team... we can call ourselves something cheeky like "Sexy Sweating Survivors" or something like it! Thanks for sharing everybody! I'm new here, just learning my way around.

I wish I could get cold. I'm constantly get hot unless the temperature is in the 60's. My house stays at 69°. Everybody in the house freezes but I'm grateful they understand.

Same with me! Sweating then cold. I sleep with a fan all year long and live in Ct. The sweating is so embarrassing, especially when you're makeup starts running!!

Hi everyone I'm back again, sweating all the way. It's been summer weather now in florída for 2 months , so I can't wait for July and August. I am basically a shut in these days , with only going out for doctor appointments, and then I try not to schedule more than 2 a week because being out and sweating so bad zaps all my energy for days.
So I tried to go to a Dermatologist for the sweating. From all the research I have done online, I do believe it is Hyperhydrosis. My primary doctor also looked for a dermatologist for me, but apparently they for the most part are not up to speed. She said the only recommendation was to try Gainesville as she had heard that there was a Hyperhydrosis. The only problem with that is that it is about 2.5 hours from my own, and I am on my own. I don't think I would be able to make the trip because I get so nauseated from the humidity I guess, and with my other issues driving that long is near to impossible. But anyways I wanted to let everyone know whàt I found oút.
