For years I’ve had swollen puffy eyes (above and below) that really make me look unwell. I’ve even seen plastic surgeons about it because it’s so troublesome. Last one I saw about 5 years ago turned me away and told me to “go see a doctor. You have a under active thyroid problem”

But my thyroid isn’t a problem. My thyroid levels are always fine. I guess it’s just lupus inflammation that has me puffy everywhere, including my face. Note this isn’t a medication side effect. It’s not from steroids… read more

You had mentioned this in another place on here and I gave you some places to look up at. I typed in Lupus and swollen watery eyes. It brought up a lot of sites.

I had puffy upper lids since forever. I finally had them surgically lifted, cause it was getting hard to see. I loved how fast it was, ins covered it, I look years younger to this day because of it.
If this is something that is just coming & going, you should see your eye specialist to see what your options are.
God bless your eyes Jams.
Sending prayers & hugs.

Oh @A MyLupusTeam Member :( I feel you. I saw an eye doctor this week and was so very underwhelmed. I will make an appointment with another one this upcoming week.

I’ll be praying we get an answer and relief. 💜

@A MyLupusTeam Member I saw an eye specialist a few months ago to determine if I have Sjogrens....which I’m rather certain of btw. The office claimed he was aware of autoimmune eye issues and could help. He didn’t impress me

I think I’m going to search for another specialist to see what they think. It’s so uncomfortable as well as ugly. The heaviness of the lids and the constant lifting of my brow because of the obstructed field of vision trigger my headaches. And at times the pressure just hurts

Its such an unhealthy look and makes me just feel terrible

I decided I need to find an ENT that deals with AI disease too. My ears struggle during my flares and vertigo and hearing loss is really upsetting. It eventually goes away but more and more long term damage is being done. So I think I need an expert
