I have SLE and when I have a flare, my sciatic nerve on my left side feels like it’s on fire..nothing really seems to help other than putting pressure. But it’s hard to stand for long periods of time and difficult to sleep in any position. I was wondering if anyone has experienced it and what has helped you.
I would be so thankful for any thoughts...
With a hug, Aroldo
I also have had 5 back surgeries including the meta fusion. I just keep in trying everything I can. I use my trusty heating pad all day long. Wouldn't be a wonderful world if we could all be out of pain
I have it on the right side. I have used Biofreez, heat and all other things. The tens unit helps some. I went through pain management, they gave me epidurals in the SI joints. Then he wanted me to have a spinal modulator placed in my back. I decided not to have that done. So for now I take muscle relaxers and a lot of stretching. Hope you find relief soon.
Hey Sweetie, mine is damage from bulging and herniated disc. My pain has gotten worse it seems every year due too degenerative joint n disc disease. I take lyrica, Rx pain med and pred the meds help with everything else I have going on. Speak with your Dr,he/she may give you something for nerve pain, it's a different kind of pain and you need meds for the nerve. Healing prayers,🙏💜
I'm reading all your comments and I also have the same symptoms. Mine comes with numbness and pain down into my foot. I've had 2 back surgeries so figured my symptoms were from my back.
Between my Neurologist and Rheumatologist I was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis which is rare and only 1% of Lupus patients get it. Read up on it, check the symptoms and talk to your Dr.
I wish I could say I have an answer but I do not. I suffer daily from the same kind of pain you are both describing. Sometimes I can hardly walk. I have had 2 spinal infusions, steroid injections into my SI joint and 2 back surgeries that did not help. Now I know what it is..inflammation from Lupus. The only thing that does seem to diminish the pain is Prednisone but I don't like to take steroids. I am amazed at how little doctors seem to know about this disease and how it effects the body. Thank you for sharing..it really does help. Won't endure anymore useless surgeries or treatments that are painful and ineffective.
