I've been keeping a log of my blood pressure per instructions from my neurologist and thought that I should track my temp as well. I've noticed that my temp tends to be around 97.5-98 instead of 98.6. I am fairly athletic and have low blood pressure as well. I know that lupus can cause low grade temps during a flare. Would it also cause body temp. to lower on average outside of a flare? My rheum. doesn't seem to place any significance on temperatures.
"While common knowledge suggests the human body's base temperature is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, adults' average normal body temperature could be closer to 97.7 degrees Fahrenheit,, according to a study published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine."

Me too
I have a fever at 98. I do get sweaty @A MyLupusTeam Member
My normal is 96.6. Anything near normal is a fever for me. But convincing someone is another matter.
My temp averages between 96.6 to 97.8. I have noticed when I hit that 98.8 I usually am not feeling well (outside of the lupus). I have 'child-like' blood pressure numbers and is on the lower side. My doctor says my blood pressure is excellent. I am no longer athlethetic (to much pain and disc degenerated disease) but I try to walk when I can. My rheum nor family doctor pays attention to my temperature either so when I am feeling crappy and I have a small fever - I remind them that my temp runs low...and for me that is a fever.
