Urine Test Questions About Kidney Involvement? Anyone Have Similar Results, Please Help

A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone
Just wondering if anyone has similar test results? My doc never got back to me. I have positive ANA for about 4 years with speckled/ diffused. C3 low and C4. Lymphocytes really low. Very anemic. Diagnosed with undifferentiated mixed connective tissue disease because for the past 8-10 years no one will just give me a diagnosis. Though they have said it’s probably Lupus 100 times
What I am wondering is that I had 3 urine tests with protein in them. And this latest test with the total… read more

Classic sign of kidney involvement. Make an appointment with a nephrologist ASAP. In the mean time, go back to the doc who ordered labs and refuse to leave the exam room until you get answers.

-ANAs will be positive with lupus
-Low C3 and C4 complements generally indicate that the lupus is active
-I had anemia when I was in methotrexate and it resolved when they took me off the medication but it can have other causes
-protein in the urine can suggest kidney involvement...only way they can say for sure if the kidney issues are related to lupus is via a biopsy
-I have had success lowering my protein and improving my kidney function with a raw vegan diet that is high in green, Chia seeds and water.

Hope this helps

Definitely go get the book. " Your Blood never Lies". Before I was diagnosed with Lupus, I got a copy of my blood work and it was awful. Once I got the book. I looked up every low or high symptoms and began to treat myself. Yes, you need to see a Rheumatologist for documentation and medical advice. But ultimately, it's up to us to research our own symptoms. I wasn't diagnosed for 5 years. Now, I am researching every symptoms I have. The information we look for doctors to give us , we have access to also. I'm so upset with the medical profession for not following up after test and not explaining our blood work. Never the less. You and I and every person suffering must take back our lives. Finally, research any symptoms and find out what will heal your symptoms. Also. Breathe!!! Take an Epsom Salt warm bath by Dr. Teal. You can get it from Walmart or Target. You got this!

I have protein in my urine which is a sign of kidney issues. I plan to contact a kidney specialist also. Honestly, we should have a doctor for all our organ's. Thank you all for sharing. Praying we all will be healed completely from all dis- ease. If you get a change research Dr Goldner. She was completely healed from Lupus. Have a great weekend.

I have protein in my urine and microscopic blood. They are suspecting lupus nephritis as generally protein in urine suggests kidneys are not filtering properly. They initially sent me for an ultrasound of the kidney and repeated the blood work and urinalysis. Protein doubled and blood remained so yesterday I had a kidney biopsy so they are able to determine extent of damage and start appropriate treatment. I have also switched to a plant-based diet to relieve extra stress on the kidneys.
Good luck. Hope this helps
