About two months ago I started to wake up to what looked like a bug bite, but there was always 2 or 3, on different parts of my body. They start small and eventually grow huge, taking up nearly the whole extremity. I was prescribed steroids at one point and then started the plaquenil. I had about 3 weeks of freedom and now it’s come back, this time on my right breast, upper arm, and lower forearm. Please tell me somebody else has experienced this. I NEED RELIEF. Those are apart of a lupus flares. When I get them I knw my body is under a flare. I also have the malar rash on my face that will get puffy and irritated.
Sounds like your body is under attack rite now and your flaring up... I'm no doctor but hydrocortisone creme if you have any.
Hope you feel better and welcome to the group Amber.

I get different rashes as well, but this particular skin issue is the most bothersome.

I was diagnosed by my rheumatologist with SLE. He is the one who started me on the plaquenil. A doctor at urgent care prescribed me prednisone (along with hydroxyzine and something else) as they were able to the see the rashes for themselves. I feel like the prednisone didn't work initially bc the rashes actually stayed longer than normal that time, but once the rash went away I did have like 3 weeks with no rashes. I'm just trying to figure it all out lol.
