Sometimes my rash spreads like you, but most!y across nose and cheeks.
Sadly, most doctors know very little about Lupus. Even the rheumies. They just want to run tests, upon tests $$$$
I'm unnecessary ones also. They just keep you coming and coming $$$$.
Do you have the book, Lupus Encyclopedia? It's a large 1000 page softcover book. It's available on Amazon. 20 bucks and a wealth of knowledge. Everyone here should have it. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’—

I usually get the butterfly rash on my face when I'm about to have a Lupus flare. When my best friend sees it, she ask is have steroids on hand.

Mine also comes and goes randomly. Sometimes just a few days and sometimes weeks at a time. No rhyme or reason...but I feel like that describes Lupus all together!

My rash (sounds wierd, doesn't it?!) will last as long as a flare lasts and can be anywhere or everywhere. At times, I've been prescribed prednisone however, the flare finally ending is what makes the rash finally leave. Folks with Cutaneous Lupus unfortunately need different interventions. Nothing about this is ever easy so I truly hope you soon find what will most help.

Mine are totally random. Some last hours, some last weeks or months. Some hurt, some are totally benign. If they hurt or linger a while I'll let my doctor know and she'll usually advise me to start a round of steroids.
